What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is an evidence-based form of healthcare that utilizes music to pursue individualized, non-musical goals (musictherapy.org). The duty of a music therapist is to address cognitive, emotional, social, and physical goals in a more accessible and creative way – through music!

How Does Music Therapy Benefit Seniors?

For our seniors, common categories addressed through music therapy include, but are not limited to:

·      Physical rehabilitation/movement

·      Bereavement

·      Pain management

·      Memory recall

·      Socialization

·      Communication

·      Emotional regulation and processing

·      Reality orientation

Through sessions with our Board-Certified Music Therapist, your loved one can develop skillsets in a fun and supportive environment, then go on to apply their developments to everyday living.
